the night expands before us
as the sun turns to dust
we scatter its broken pieces upon the floor
searching for a meaning
in all this light
the shadows walk with us
and we follow the beaten path
treading lightly on grounds unseen
we wonder where we are headed
I lace my fingers
through the delicacy of yours
wondering if there is such a thing as heaven
and thinking
if I could lay down now
in the cool grass made of evening dew
I think that maybe Ill find it
and the stars tell a story
of a lifetime gone by in so many years
but we havent really been alive yet
and sometimes I think
Ill find a semblance or piece
of comfort in where you lay
and I wonder if youve really felt it yet
the way your heart beats when youre in love
and I wonder if youve even noticed yet
how part of you seems to be missing
cause somethings not right
and I think you know it
but I dont want to pick you apart
but somethings not right
and I think that I noticed
but I dont want to break you just yet
and sometimes I want to talk so fast
spin words into yarn and make scarves out of smiles
and sometimes I want to run screaming through the world
because words dont seem to be enough
but a part of me lives
and a part of me dies
as I find heaven here in this dew
in the stars that align
when the evening arrives
and our fingers are laced
and my heart finds its place
in you

Yeah, I'm not sure how I feel about this poem in its entirety yet. I wrote it and posted it almost right away, which is unusual for me. haha.
:* I love you!
